Middlesex County’s Department of Economic Development Receives International Acclaim for Its Promotion of Local Businesses and Tourism Assets – Taking Home Coveted Hermes Marketing Awards in all Four Categories of Entry

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON: Four marketing initiatives produced by Middlesex County to promote and advertise local food and tourism offerings have received international recognition among the creative industry’s best.

The Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition held annually to recognize the creative industry’s best marketing material produced for external or internal audiences. Administered and judged by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals (AMCP), winners of the Hermes Creative Awards are selected amongst thousands of entries and can range in size from individual talent to large media conglomerates.

Middlesex County Culinary Guide – Awarded PLATINUM for Print Media/Publications/Program Guide

The Middlesex County Culinary Guide was one of four marketing initiatives to receive an award, and is a recipient of the first place platinum award for the Publications 20. Program Guide Category. The County’s Department of Economic Development is thrilled to have their publication receive this award for its creative display of the local flavours and culinary attractions found within the area.

Ignite All Your Senses When You Visit Middlesex… - Awarded PLATINUM for Electronic Media/Video/TV Advertisement

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism is pleased to announce their new Visit Middlesex Commercial “Ignite Your Senses to Explore the County” received a prestigious first place platinum award for this advertisement. The commercial offers viewers an heart-warming glimpse into the possibilities for their next adventure, as they explore the Middlesex and all that the area has to offer.

Discover Our Grassroutes Middlesex County Official Tourism Map – Awarded GOLD for Print Media/Publications/Brochure

Middlesex County’s newly updated Grassroutes Tourism Map received a gold standing in the Hermes Creative Awards Brochure Category. Crafted by the Economic Development and Tourism Department, which acts as the Destination Marketing Organization for the Region, this marketing initiative provides readers with a detailed and adventurous map taking them to some of the best tourism hot spots found in the County.

From Our Hands to Your Table – Awarded GOLD for Video/Video Series 

The engaging video series “From Our Hands to Your Table” was awarded gold from the Hermes Creative Awards. The series showcases the partnership between local food producers and restaurateurs providing viewers with the opportunity to learn about each project partner and the significance of sourcing local ingredients. Along with Economic Development, Tourism and Agricultural partners in both Middlesex and Sarna-Lambton, Middlesex County’s Economic Development and Tourism Department is excited to continue to build upon the “From Our Hands to Your Table” brand and will be releasing a third installment of partner videos in 2022!

Middlesex is pleased to be recognized by the Hermes Creative Awards, and to receive such praise for its marketing initiatives. “It is a true honour to receive this high level recognition. With these awards, we are very proud to showcase our local tourism businesses on an international stage,” stated Cara Finn, Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “On behalf of Council, Middlesex County extends its sincere appreciation to the Hermes Creative Awards for these prestigious acknowledgements.
