Update on Canada-U.S. Tariffs:
As of Friday, July 11, 2025, the United States has broadened its trade restrictions on Canadian goods: a 10% baseline tariff on all imports, augmented by specific duties including 25% on autos and auto parts, 50% on copper, and 35% on a wide range of industrial and manufactured products, taking effect by August 1. Canada continues to enforce its 25% retaliatory tariffs on U.S. exports implemented in March and is actively coordinating with provinces and territories to prepare additional non‑tariff responses should U.S. measures remain in place.
The Economic Development team at Invest in Middlesex is here to support your business by offering essential information and guidance on available resources during this time, ensuring you're prepared for impacts and any upcoming changes to the current tariff situation.
