Middlesex County Launches Full-Service Economic Development Website

Middlesex County officials are taking a giant step toward fulfilling their commitment to economic development in the region through the creation of a newly launched website.

The website, www.investinmiddlesex.ca, is one of a series of new activities designed to stimulate economic development in the region.

Created in consultation with local businesses, the site was designed to meet the needs of the existing business community and help attract new businesses at the same time.

Middlesex County Warden Joanne Vanderheyden said, “Our businesses are one of the most valuable resources in our community and I am very excited about the new steps we are taking to support them.”

Since the Middlesex County business community identified communication as a priority during a recent Corporate Visitation exercise, one of the site’s core functions is to disseminate information that will be helpful to new and existing businesses.

“We spent several months talking to business people in Middlesex County, and they all said they wanted to feel connected,” says Economic Development Manager Aileen Murray. “This website gives them lots of ways to do that.”

The site will share everything from breaking business news to information about government programs and upcoming events, such as workshops and seminars.

The site includes a directory of industrial and agri-businesses which will make it easy for local businesses to support each other, access local suppliers and build stronger networks. It also contains social media marketing features to help keep businesses connected within the county and beyond.
