Municipality of Middlesex Centre

The Corporation of the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, formed on January 1, 1998 with the amalgamation of the former Townships of Delaware, Lobo, and London, is predominantly a rural municipality in Middlesex County, with a population of over 15,500 and an area of 588 sq. kilometres (according to 2006 Statistics Canada). The Municipality is situated to the north and west limits of the City of London, and therefore enjoys both urban and rural amenities. The municipal offices are located in the Hamlet of Coldstream, approximately 15 km northwest of the City of London.

The Municipality is situated on prime agricultural land and agricultural uses represent one of the Municipality's most significant economic and community assets. Agricultural practices interact with natural heritage features and functions in a number of ways, including agricultural drainage, nutrient management, land clearing and tile draining for agricultural production and the pasturing of livestock.
